Behind the Beans: Win Win’s Guide to Roast Levels & Origin Narratives

Discover the distinct flavor profiles, origin stories, and recommended brewing methods for each of our signature single-origin coffees and signature blends.

What makes Win Win Coffee’s roasting philosophy different?

We small-batch roast our coffee beans in Philadelphia, PA, shortly after importing them directly from our farm partners, unlike industrial roasters whose products sit in warehouses for months. Removing intermediaries allows us to preserve the vibrant, fresh agricultural characteristics of each lot while returning greater value back to the growers.

LIGHT TO MEDIUM ROASTS

Light and medium roasts showcase the bright acidity, floral qualities, and delicate fruit characteristics inherent to high-altitude coffee seeds.

1. Ethiopia / Guji (Birthright)

  • Flavor Profile: Vibrant citrus, delicate jasmine florals, and juicy stone fruits like peach. It features a tea-like body and a crisp, clean finish.

  • The Story Behind the Bean: Sourced directly from our partners in the Guji region of Ethiopia, this coffee honors the birthplace of Arabica coffee and celebrates the ancestral rituals of consumption.

  • Best Brew Method: Pour-Over (Hario V60 or Chemex) to let the delicate floral notes and bright stone fruit shine.

2. Rwandan
